Shakib Al Hasan (Bengali: সাকিব আল হাসান; born 24 March 1987) is a Bangladeshi international cricketer who currently captains the Bangladesh national team in Test and T20I formats. Considered as the best cricketer to have ever played for Bangladesh, Shakib is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest all-rounders in the world. He holds the record for being ranked first as an all rounders for 10 years and is still in the highest current rankings in all three formats of the game (Test, Twenty20 and One Day Internationals). He married Umme Ahmed Shishir, a Bangladeshi American in December 2012. The couple met each other in 2011 while Shakib was playing county cricket for Worcestershire in England. They had their first daughter Alaina Hasan Abri in November 2015. In August 2018 he became a green card holder which allows him to live and work in the US.

• It was in August 2006, when Shakib earned his first ODI wicket. He bowled out Elton Chigumbura, and performed well with the bat, scoring 30. Overall, his presence paid off in Bangladesh winning the match. • His consistency in the national team and the injury of Mortaza got him the captaincy of his side when he was about 22, the youngest in the history of Bangladesh and 5th youngest in the history of test cricket.
